John Iota Kimble, the first born son of James Floyd Kimble and Mary Samantha Shoemaker Kimble, was born April 29, 1876; sometimes called John and other times records show him as Iota or Ota. John Iota (or Great Grandpa John Iota as I refer to him), was the "big" brother to: William Ernest Kimble (1877-1958), Charles Ellsworth Kimble (1879- ?), James Franklin "Frank" Kimble, 1882-1973, Roy Cleo Kimble (1885-1973), Ray Kimble (1885), Edna Belle Kimble (Cormaney) (1888-?), and Earl Everett Kimble (1892-1962)
John Iota married his first wife, Rosa Dickson Rosa was the daughter of John Lee Dickson and Edna Dickson, born 16 June 1878 in Moberly, Missouri.
John and Rosa started their family in 1897 with the birth of a son, Albert Kimble. Albert died as a young boy on a trip with Rosa to see his Grandparents John Lee and Edna Dickson. It is said that he became ill during the journey and passed away. I haven't been able to find anything else on Albert, in fact in the beginning of my search, we didn't know anything about him. His youngest sister, my Great Aunt Betty, shared the information about his death with me.
Their second child, Everett Clayton Kimble arrived arrived on 20 December 1898. Everett married Catherine Monaco (born 20 February 1897) on the second of May, 1918. Everett enlisted in the United States Army on 22 December 1916 and was honorably discharged 4 June 1920. The 1920 Census shows them (Everett & Catherine) living in Ridgefield Park, Bergen, New Jersey with Catherine's parents and siblings. The 1930 Census shows Everett and Catherine and their daughters, Rose, Elizabeth and Helene, living in Takoma Park, Montgomery, Maryland. At some point, which I have not determined yet, Everett abandoned his wife and daughters to go back to Panama, where he had been stationed during his time in the Army. He had a "Common-law wife" named Rose Guerra, with whom he fathered two children, Everett Clayton Kimble Guerra and Rose Guerra. John Iota and Rosa Dickson Kimble's son Everett Clayton Kimble died in Panama and is buried in Corozal Cemetery, Corozal, Canal Zone. Catherine Monaco Kimble raised her daughters in the United States--she worked as a Nurse. Catherine Monaco Kimble passed away 10 May 1993 in Irvine, Orange county, California.
I will stop for now--there will be more to come!
